January 20, 2012 – TNA Houseshow From Worcester, Massachusetts: Mr. Anderson and RVD defeated Mexican America
January 20, 2012 – TNA Houseshow From Lowell, Massachusetts: Rob Van Dam & Mr. Anderson def. Mexican America
Mr. Anderson is, for my money, one of the best in the business today. I’ll never understand how WWE missed the boat on him. I seem a perfect combination of Steve Austin and The Rock in him. I know, that’s tremendous praise, but he has oozes that charisma and can put on a heck of a performance in the ring. You don’t see that very often.
Anyway, RVD and Anderson win after a RVD frogsplash. Prematch, Anderson raised his hand to grab the microphone that would drop from the ceiling, only, it obviously didn’t. So, So Cal Val, our ring announcer, came into the ring with a chair and dropped a mic into Anderson’s hands for him to introduce himself. Anderson introduced himself as “MIIIIIISSSTTTTEEERRRRR KEEEENNN …. ANDERSON!”
Funaki vs Ken Anderson
Anderson comes out and grabs the mic from Tony Chimel to repeat his ring announcements with his own spin on things and bigs himself up. He calls himself Mr Anderson then repeats Anderson as he poses on the turnbuckles. Anderson backs Funaki to the corner, Funaki dodges a punch attempt and hiptosses Anderson followed by an armdrag into an armbar. Anderson pushes Funaki back into the corner then tries an armdrag of his own but Funaki rolls through and keeps the armbar applied. Anderson backs Funaki into the ropes by the hair, Funaki reverses off the ropes but puts his head down early enabling Anderson to grab him and throw him shoulder first into the ringpost. Anderson snapmares Funaki, one count. Anderson with an armwringer reels in Funaki and drives his shoulder into Funaki’s twice as “You suck” rings out around the arena. Anderson talks trash as he slaps Funaki’s head. Anderson goes to reel Funaki in again but Funaki ducks and counters into a schoolboy for two. Anderson clotheslines and traps Funaki in a keylock submission. Funaki punches free, Anderson reverses into the ropes catches Funaki’s leg but Funaki turns it into an enziguiri. Funaki off the ropes nails a bulldog and fires up. Funaki with punches whips Anderson off the ropes and into a dropkick. Funaki hits another dropkick then slams down Anderson. Funaki to the top rope hits a cross body but Anderson rolls on top 1-2-Funaki rolls his shoulder up. Both men up, Anderson knees the gut and Irish whips Funaki who gets his feet up to boot a charging Anderson. Funaki tries to go up top again but Anderson punches rises to the second rope himself gets Funaki on his back and comes off with an impressive fireman’s carry into a senton 1-2-3. Here is Your Winner: KEN ANDERSON. Nice debut. Post match Anderson gets a mic and again corrects Chimel saying the winner is Mr Anderson.

Hailing from Green Bay Wisconsin, standing at 6ft 2in and weighing in at 243 lb its Mr. Anderson…Anderson! Ken Anderson is a professional wrestler so good he announces himself twice when coming to the ring.
The 35-year-old made a name for himself in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) taking on the likes of The Undertaker and winning the United States Championship.
Ken then moved to Total Nonstop Action (TNA) in 2010 and has since become a two-time world champion – the grappler has become not only one of the best in-ring performers but his skills on the microphone are second to none.
Sportsvibe.co.uk caught up with Ken to discuss talk about, being a late bloomer, assholes and the Green Bay Packers.
Q. How did you first get into wrestling?
Its kind of a crazy story, I didn’t start to watch wrestling till fairly late in my life. I was about 20-years-old but when I fell, I fell hard. I was of the mindset that wrestling was just a bunch of guys rolling around on the mat with each other, but when I realised it was just raw entertainment, I was kind of ashamed of myself for having those stupid feelings for as long as I did. I began to watch as much as I could, whenever I could and really went back and started doing my homework on the sport catching up on the things I had missed.
I talked about it so much that I had a friend of mine who knew somebody that went to a wrestling school and when I heard you could actually go to wrestling school I was all over it. Nine months later I had my first match and then spent the next six-and-a half years running around the country on the independent scene. I was constantly sending tapes and making phone calls to guys like Kevin Kelly and Tommy Dreamer until I eventually got called up.
Q. When you first started watching wrestling, who were some of the wrestlers that got you into the sport?
The guy that got me interested the most was Stone Cold Steve Austin. At the time I remember everyone being very entertaining, it seemed like everybody on television meant something and mattered. Whilst I was mainly waiting to see what Steve Austin was going to do, everybody else from top to bottom also entertained me, even the lower card guys that had really cool gimmicks and storylines.
Q. You managed to get your big break with the WWE in 2006. What was your time with the company like?
It was great. It was a dream come true for me, it was everything I expected plus a lot more. It was a great experience and I learned a ton from it. I guess I’ve got to where I am today from the experiences that I encountered during my time with the WWE.
The one thing that always stands out in my mind is the first time I ever faced The Undertaker. I was standing in the ring in Oklahoma City, the lights went out and when I heard that gong for the first time, it gave me goosebumps and I remember thinking ‘how did I get here?’
Q. You’ve been with TNA for nearly two-years now. In those two years how has the company evolved and how have you evolved?
I think the company is always evolving. We’re really focusing right now on trying to get more viewers and do a lot of the things that work for the other company. You look at the WWE and the machine that they have, there’s a reason why they’re so successful. I don’t think we’ve copied them, but we’ve taken some pages from their book and definitely added them to ours. As far as I go, I’m just trying to get better everyday and I’m always learning. TNA star Ken Anderson has defended pal Jeff Hardy and insisted that the troubled star is back on the right track.
Hardy has fought addiction and faced serious problems with the law in a turbulent career but is universally recognised as one of the most gifted pro wrestlers of his generation.
After being fined $100,000 and jailed for 10 days following a series of drug-related offences, Hardy is now back in the TNA fold and appearing on Impact Wrestling on a regular basis.
Anderson told SunSport: “A guy like Jeff Hardy, regardless of what you think about him personally, is a tremendous entertainer. He loves this business and gives his all to this business.
“Everybody makes mistakes, everybody does stupid stuff. I’m not trying to make excuses for anybody, but when you’ve had the career that he’s had and done the things that he’s done, you’re bound to make mistakes.
“When you do make mistakes people are going to look at it with a magnifying glass and amplify it and make it bigger than it actually is.
“I think he’s done a great job of overcoming that and recognising ‘I did this. This is my problem. How do I fix it so that I don’t do it again? How do I move forward?’ He’s done all those things.
“I have no judgments about Jeff Hardy other than the fact that he is a great performer and a hell of a guy.”
Anderson himself has consistently been one of TNA’s leading performers and is sure to receive a rapturous reception when the company tours England in January. Continue reading »

Kurt Angle comes out and says he hates when someone accuses him of attacking them from behind, and he tells James Storm that he didn’t sneak up on him. He says he was just quicker than Storm, and he didn’t have time to worry about his damn luck, so the next time he wants to accuse him of something he will tell him to his face and kick his ass personally. James Storm comes out and says he is going to personally stick his boot up his ass, because they are way past personal since they traveled together and their kids played together. Storm takes off his glasses and says he is looking him in the eye and tells him to take a shot, then Kurt tells him he was only getting revenge for losing his title.
Storm says they are past the point of talking and starts to take off his watch and hat, but Kurt stops him and says he is a gentleman and didn’t come there to fight. He says there are a few guys that would like to fight, and he brings Immortal out and they surround him as Kurt says he’s not so tough when he is outnumbered. Storm tells him he has a message from his daughter, and he punches Kurt in the face and rolls out of the ring as Immortal run after him. RVD, AJ Styles and Mr. Anderson run out and fight the rest of the guys off until they retreat backstage.
8 Man Tag Team Match
Team Storm: Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, Rob Van Dam & Mr. Anderson vs
Team Angle: Jeff Jarrett, Bully Ray, Christopher Daniels & Bobby Roode
(Note: Jeff Hardy is scratched from the earlier attack, and Roode starts the match doing commentary)
Daniels attacks AJ in the corner, but AJ retaliates with some kicks and armdrags Jarrett and tags in Anderson, who hits a couple of hiptosses and gets a near fall. Jarrett tags Bully Ray and he elbows Anderson and hits a suplex, then tags in Daniels and he connects with a heel kick for two, then slugs it out with Anderson but he gets hit with a rolling fireman’s carry slam for another near fall. RVD comes in and gets attacked in the corner, and Jarrett whips him into the turnbuckles and Ray hits a big splash. RVD elbows his way out only to get knocked right back down, and Team Angle continues to use quick tags to keep RVD grounded.
Daniels misses a corner splash and Ray and Anderson get tagged in and slug it out, then Anderson hits a spinning neckbreaker for two and goes for a Kenton Bomb but Ray counters with an Uranage Slam and Bobby Roode leave commentary and blind tags in and makes the cover. AJ gets in and unloads on Roode with punches and kicks, but Roode blatantly low blows him in front of the ref and gets disqualified as Jarrett jumps in and kicks AJ. We come back after a commercial and Ray and Jarrett double suplex AJ then continue with quick tags to keep him grounded, but AJ hits Daniels with a Pele kick and gets the hot tag to RVD.
RVD hits some springboard kicks then knocks Daniels down and goes for a Five Star, but Kurt runs over and shoves him off the top rope and Daniels holds the tights to get the pin. Storm chases Kurt up the ramp and fights with him as Jarrett and Ray corner AJ and Daniels hits him with a clothesline. Ray backbody drops AJ then tells Daniels to hit the BME, and hits slams his down and springs up for it, but AJ kicks him in the face on the way down. He ducks as Ray and Jarrett run at him and they clothesline each other, and everyone is down on the mat as Jeff Hardy’s music hits and he limps out but gets on the apron and makes the tag.
Hardy kicks Daniels and hits a Twist Of Fate for the pin, then turns around and almost hits Jarrett with one, but ends up surprising him with a rollup instead. Jarrett and Ray double team Hardy but AJ blind tags in as Hardy counters with a double corkscrew elbow. Jarrett ends up rolling to the apron and AJ hits a springboard forearm smash on Ray and makes the final pinfall elimination. Bobby Roode runs back out after the match and lays out Hardy and AJ with the belt then stands over AJ and screams that he can beat him.

James Storm is backstage and walks in on Ken Anderson playing XBox360 and says he suspects Anderson of jumping him since he’s an asshole. Anderson does some usual goofiness at first, then gets serious and says that if he was going to jump Storm, he’d see it coming. He asks Storm if he wants to play, and Storm is all like “Yeah, that’d be awesome!” and then yanks out the power cord and walks off.
